Twilight night bicycle or mountain bike trail. Sunday night is the best time to head out and cycling around Bangkok and its outer suburbs. The riding is about 30km and takes around 5 hours.
This trail is focused on cycling and seeing Bangkoks outer suburbs. We find that it is best to follow this trail at dusk as its cooler and half the trail is in day light and half in the dark. Sunday evening seems to be a good time to go because there is less traffic. The trail goes along the sides of miles of canals over rickity old bridges, across train tracks and along a maze of paths weaving through traditional Thai houses and temples.
The world famous Kanchanaburi with it's first class tourist venues Hellfirepass, the Death Railway, the Bridge over the river Kwai and not to forget the River Kawi itself attracts milions of visitors each year but only a small fraction of these do it by bicycle.
Kanchanaburi is a great place for bicycling and its a unique way of seeing the railway stations, caves at Kao Poon, the death railway and the world famous Bridge Over The River Kwai (or Kwae as it is pronounced in Thai) and much more..

If you are an adventurous extreme sports person and have a good command of riding a mountain bike then why not try a night trail. With a couple of lights on the bike and one on your cycling helmet you can ride deep into the jungle for an unforgettable mountain biking adventure.
Khao E-to can be a good place to do some single track night riding. It's totally different to riding in the day. The excitement doesn't come from going fast it's about being in the middle of the forest with only your mountain bike. We recommend that you wear elbow and knee pads and do not do this ride alone.
The Blue Trail
The Blue trail is an excellent technical ride with a downhill single track and is definately not an easy ride. The first part of the trail is a great single track loop with technical climbs and rewarding fast flowing single track descent. As you come out onto the road after the first two sections of single track a support vehicle is recommended to take you to the top of the mountain (at least on your first time on this trail) otherwise to get to the top is 2 km ride uphill on an unshaded road before you start the 2 mile downhill on the left hand side of the mountain...

The trail at Phuttamonthon Park is about 7 km of flat single track. Which is a great introduction to single track mountain biking and a good bit of exersize. The trail is purpose built for mountain biking and consists of a few switch backs and some small burms weaving in and out of trees. This trail is great fun and only about 30 mins drive (depending on the traffic of course) from the center of Bangkok. The park is full of wild life including giant monitor lizards and terrapins.
The trail can be quite difficult to find so we have added a map below. Once you found the start point the trail is easy to follow and its marked every so often with arrows.
To find the trail go to the far end of the park (the opposite side of the entrances). There is a straight river/canal running parallel to the road the start is near the road in the trees.
